I want to own every movie that Meryl Streep is in. I want to have a Meryl-Streep-Mountain-Movie-Marathon. I have always loved the diversity of her acting ability and I truly believe that she makes a movie come to life with her skills alone. The first movie I remember falling for her in was some movie about a dingo that killed her character’s kid. I remembered about it a couple of years ago and have been wanting to watch it since.

I love music. I’ve been a singer in musicals and on stage and have always loved the Theater. There was so much buzz about Rent, that my husband and I rented the movie version. I had high hopes for it. HOWEVER, I couldn’t even make it through the first 10 minutes because the music (plot and cinematography) sucked so bad. I pretty much gave up hope that any musical-made-to-movie would be good again.

Last night was a GNO with my mom and she wanted to see Mamma Mia, so I obliged ONLY because of Meryl Streep being in it. I even cringed when the first song came onscreen but was curious of my favorite actress and until she ruined it for me, I’d stick with it. I’m glad I did.

This movie was perfect for my mom and I to see together. I’m glad there was only about a pint of butter, from our pretzel and popcorn, that I had to soak with napkins because we needed the extra napkins to sop up the Niagara’s flow of tears from laughing out (extremely) loud and crying so hard. Thankfully we were the only two people in the entire theater. The married couple that was there, before us, left during the first song. I would never have brought Jase with me to see this movie.

Thanks Meryl, for not letting me down.
